Expected construction commencement 2023
Located on Sydney Road this development provides residents with a diverse range of retail and commercial surroundings with direct access to amenities in the heart of Coburg.
Rail and tram links to the CBD and wider Melbourne are on the doorstep of this development.
Barnett intends to provide a development that is designed from the inside out, with every apartment providing an environment for its occupants to thrive.
Access to natural light, good air quality, generous outdoor areas and room to move all aid the process of living well. Going one step further with good design, the generous spaces offered here are fine tuned and optimised to function as warm and caring places to live, highlighting the importance of the day to day rituals that define family life.

Pending Government Approval
Barnett is participating in the the State Government’s Inclusionary Housing Pilot managed by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. The Foundation has been selected through an Expression of Interest process to purchase and develop a mix of social, affordable and market housing
Unfortunately this project is currently on hold due to its size, complexity and unforeseen circumstances. The Barnett Foundation is currently working with government departments to sort through some issues and if the process is able to restart, we do not expect this to occur until 2023. We will endeavour to keep you informed of its status
pilot project
Melbourne Apartments Project, North Melbourne
34 Apartments
The Melbourne Apartments Project was the pilot project to verify that the Barnett Model works and that there would be demand for it.
34 apartments designed by Fender Katsalidis were developed in North Melbourne. 28 of these apartments were sold to tenants of social housing with 6 being sold at full market prices to ensure the cash position of the project was neutral and thus the model was sustainable.
Independent research of the outcomes of the Melbourne Apartments Project by the University of Melbourne confirmed the significant social and financial benefits of the Barnett affordable home ownership model.
